Post Conference Tours and Activities

The Healthy Environments Across Generations conference invites participants to extend their conference experience on Friday June 8th by participating in one of several post-conference tours and activities being offered. There is no additional cost to participant in these post-conference activities.

Participants can sign up in advance by contacting info@healthandenvironment.org and indicating the event you would like to participate in. Or, sign up sheets will be available at the registration desk at the conference. Some activities have a limited number of spaces available, so pre-registration is encouraged.


Central Park Conservatory Garden Wellness Tour
Learn more about nature as healer on this tour of the Central Park Conservatory Garden conducted by Jack Carman, FASLA, American Society of Landscape Architects and Design for Generations.

Kairos Dance Theater: Art and Play in the Park
Cristopher Anderson and Maria Genne of Kairos Dance Theater invite conference participants to a lively hour of co-creative audience-as-artist "high play" based in theater, dance, story, folk culture and other interactive modes. To be held in Central Park.

Red Hook Community Farm in Brooklyn Tour
Visit Red Hook Community Farm, an intergenerational space that serves as an experiential educational environment for youth, adults and senior citizens. Through these programs Red Hook Community Farm has become a place where we can nurture a shared vision, develop the skills necessary to build a more sustainable world, address global warming by lessening the environmental impact of our community and improving access to healthy affordable food. Ian Marvey, Exectuive Director of Added Value will lead the tour.
