Special CHE Partnership Call with Daniel Goleman on "Social Intelligence and Environmental Health"

November 6, 2006

This was a special CHE Partnership call with best-selling author Daniel Goleman, author of "Emotional Intelligence" and a new book, "Social Intelligence." Dan is the winner of the American Psychological Association's Lifetime Achievement Award and Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.

Dan discussed the "neural ballet" of social intelligence, the sociability that connects us brain to brain with those around us, and the implications of both social and emotional intelligence for CHE's work in environmental health. What are the intersections of social and emotional intelligence with environmental contaminants? To what degree can social and emotional intelligence protect us from the cumulative impact of other forms of stress?
