TILT (Toxicant-Induced Loss of Tolerance)

Apr 10, 2007

This teleconference was a conversation on Toxicant-Induced Loss of Tolerance (TILT) with Dr. Claudia Miller at the University of Texas.

TILT (or Toxicant-induced loss of tolerance) is a theory of disease that may underlie a broad array of medical illnesses including asthma, allergies, attention deficit disorder, autoimmune diseases, chronic fatigue, migraine headaches, depression, unexplained illnesses of Gulf War veterans, chemical sensitivity, and more. On this call we will discuss the importance of understanding TILT, in addition to the implications of this theory, and the need for research, diagnosis and treatment of environmentally triggered health problems.

Call Moderator: Michael Lerner, President of Commonweal and Co-Founding CHE Partner

Science Update: Pete Myers, Ph.D., CEO, Environmental Health Sciences

Featured Presentation: Claudia Miller, MD, MS, Occupational and Environmental Medicine, Interim Assistant Dean, MD/MPH Program, Vice Chair, Community Medicine, Department of Family and Community Medicine, Medical Director, Environmental Health and Medicine Educational Initiative, RAHC, and Director, South Texas Environmental Education and Research (STEER) Program, University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.
