Wendy, if the stream stops, the best thing to do is open a new browser in real player (under "file") and then cut and paste the link to the stream from the CHE website.

I just wanted to mention that Diesel Engine Exhaust contains both phalates and bispheny A as Tracee was mentioning. Might be a source for fertility problems via air pollution.

Leo - A number of groups have published reports on air pollution and repro health compromise. You can check CHE Fertility's Online Library of Abstracts housed within the EHS digest at www.EnvironmentalHealthNews.org for references(see links to the libraries on CHE's homepage left side menu). # groups I know of just immediately off top of head you could ask are: Dr Paul English at California Dept of Health Services/EHIB Branch; Dr Rebecca Sokol at Keck School of Medicine; and a group in Sao Paulo, Brazil, who published last year on sex ratio alterations and sperm damage from exposure to air pollution.

Hello Michael, Alison, Tracey, Andrea, and Dori My name is Tim Mcleod and I work with Planned Parenthood of Western Washington. My question of interest ties into Andrea’s summary about the need for communication in translating the science to many sections of our respective communities. I coordinate an advocacy project with 20 highly motivated college students throughout Western Washington. I am seeking to bring these issues into the scope of our work of environmental protection, health, and family planning. One example of this work is a small conference we are planning at The University of Puget sound entitled "The Sustainability Connection: A Summit on Environmental Protection, Health, and Family Planning" taking place on Saturday, April 28. We would greatly appreciate any thoughts you have about: 1. Potential Speakers for this event 2. Ways in which you think we can best utilize the efforts of these college students in making these issues real for undergraduates and non-scientists. As you likely know, Dr Vanessa Cullins presence at the Summit sparked lots of enthusiasm for the nexus work you are promoting at the intersection of repro health advocacy and environmental health science and advocacy. Its a growing dialogue. Have you seen the white paper written by Reproductive Health Technologies Project on this nexus?

I have been wanting this kind of conference/collaboration to happen since the 80's (before I knew I had endometriosis myself). Thanks so much. I wish I could have been at the conference and I appreciate being able to hear about it. I was the one interviewed in the Oakland Tribune article on the conference. Unfortunately the DES comment under my photo was incorrect even though I had tried to correct the writer ahead of time.

I appreciate the comments from Dori and others about the science-to-advocacy translation piece. We heard that loud and clear at the Summit. How do we move forward with that work? Another meeting? Workgroups? Any thoughts?

Michael your words are so right on and they always are every time I hear you speak. Thank you so much.

In one way, when talking about taking the science from the bench to the community, the most reluctant party for promoting the "conversation" is the health practitioner, so I would like to encourage the research scientists to really think about how they can participate in "practitioner conferences" to argue why they should not be afraid to comunicate information to their patients even when there is no clear "cure" to offer other than "information on how to reduce exposure in a preventive way".
